Can you imagine doing everything humanly possible to shut down the baby factory, only for fate to say otherwise? Joyse, a 39-year-old psychologist from Itupeva, Brazil, recently discovered that she is expecting her ninth child.
What makes the story unbelievable is not just the number of children, but the fact that she had already undergone a tubal ligation while her husband, Leonardo, had also gotten a vasectomy. Apparently, even a double lock wasn’t enough to stop the surprise.
“I was certain lightning wouldn’t strike the same place twice, but it did,” Joyse said after seeing the positive pregnancy test. After believing their family was already complete, biology decided to play an unexpected trick on them.
Despite two supposedly permanent procedures, this baby apparently decided that statistics simply didn’t apply. “It was a complete surprise for everyone,” the parents explained, as they now prepare to welcome a child who quite literally arrived against all odds. That’s one determined baby!
