Nothing is more democratic than this: everyone, without exception, was an anus before being anything else. It’s not an insult. It’s biology. Humans are deuterostomes, which means that during embryonic development in the womb, the anus is literally the first opening to form. The mouth comes later. The eyes, much later. First the anus. And you know what the best part is? This applies to absolutely everyone: presidents, Nobel Prize winners, your boss, your ex. Everyone went through that phase. “At some point in your life, you were nothing more than an anus”, science sums up with a precision no comedian could have achieved. The fact is real, it’s in any embryology textbook and has been in university curricula for decades. But there’s a punchline biology doesn’t teach in class: some people, apparently, never developed anything beyond that initial stage 😂
