Some loves come to an end, while others, for the person who experienced them, simply don’t need to be replaced 🥹.
Terri Irwin met Steve in 1991 when she visited Australia Zoo as a tourist, and just eight months later they were married. For 14 years, they built a life together, had Bindi and Robert, and turned their love of animals into a mission that took them around the world.
Everything changed on September 4, 2006, when Steve died at the age of 44 after a stingray barb pierced his heart while he was filming in the Great Barrier Reef.
Since then, Terri has said that she hasn’t been on a single date and doesn’t feel like she’s missing anything else to experience in that regard. For her, Steve was her “happy ending” and the love they shared was enough.
Nearly two decades after losing him, she has moved forward with her children, Australia Zoo, and the conservation mission they built together. Because moving on with your life doesn’t always mean having to look for someone to take the place of the person you loved ❤️.
