Halle Berry was direct in court: “I have never physically, emotionally, or in any other way abused Maceo”.
The actress filed court documents seeking to reinstate the August 2023 custody agreement, which gave her and Olivier Martinez 50/50 custody of their 13-year-old son. She is also asking to regain the tie-breaking authority she had before and for the court to order Martinez to attend the court-mandated therapy sessions.
It all erupted last week, when Martinez obtained a temporary restraining order against her on Maceo’s behalf. According to his account, the boy texted him saying that Halle had physically assaulted him while he was playing a virtual reality video game, and claimed it wasn’t the first time.
Halle denies it all. “I am a victim of domestic violence and help other victims. I am not an abuser. I would never hurt our son”, she said. Her lawyer went further: according to him, she is used to this kind of “outrageous” behavior from Martinez and won’t be deterred in her fight for the child’s well-being.
