Conor McGregor, 37, returned to the octagon after 5 years without fighting. All of Las Vegas was waiting for him. Everyone wanted to see the comeback he himself called “the comeback of all comebacks”.
It lasted 69 seconds. As he threw a high kick, his right knee gave way. He fell three times in the first minute against Max Holloway, and referee Mike Beltran had no choice but to stop everything.
“I’m in shock, devastated. I had no injury before the fight. This came out of nowhere. I’m more than depressed. I can only describe it as hell”, Conor said after the fight.
He took home more than 15 million dollars for a fight that did not even last two minutes. Holloway improves to 28-9. McGregor, with his hopes shattered along with his knee.
