In Cartago, Colombia, this tattoo artist and influencer known as Kalaca Skull underwent a series of extreme body modifications: he amputated his nose and ears, tattooed both eyeballs black, and split his tongue in two, imitating that of a reptile. The goal was clear from the beginning: to look like a human skull walking down the street.
The transformation brought him what he was looking for on social media: thousands of followers fascinated and repelled at the same time by his appearance. But it also closed doors that he can no longer reopen. He himself admits it bluntly: he acted first and thought about the consequences afterward, knowing that no conventional job would hire him with that face. Today he survives on his tattoos and the content he creates, sustaining a life built entirely around the decision that erased the face he had before.
