Christina Milkeryn didn’t expect a video lasting just a few seconds to become the center of a global debate.
The tattoo artist from Kyiv, Ukraine, filmed a client getting the phrase “I hate men” (“Odio a los hombres” in Spanish) tattooed on her chest. In the message accompanying the clip, written in English, she made her style clear: she’s always happy to do misandrist tattoos for her clients and invites them to message her if they want one.

The issue was the context. Ukraine has been at war with Russia for years, and thousands of men are on the front lines defending the country. Many users, mostly men, saw it as a contradiction and a lack of respect.

On the other side, many women came out in support of her: everyone gets to decide what they put on their own skin. According to comments attributed to the tattoo artist, the message isn’t aimed at soldiers, but at misogyny, toxic masculinity, and violence against women.
Now the video is dividing social media. Personal expression or a generalization against an entire gender? What do you think?
