Megan Blain is a 19-year-old woman from Seaham who suffers from an extreme compulsion to keep her skin dark after starting to use tanning beds at the age of 16.
This behavior has taken control of her daily life to the point of turning down modeling jobs and skipping her prom because she didn’t feel tan enough. Despite noticing that spots that change shape have appeared on her body, the young woman admits that it is almost impossible for her to give up the habit due to her low self-esteem.
She currently spends about 38 dollars a month on ultraviolet ray sessions in search of a confidence she can’t find any other way, while trying to gradually reduce her usage.
