Jeanette Hedström was 22 years old when the car she was traveling in, driven by her sister, collided head-on near Jönköping, Sweden.

It was July 2004. The impact tore her diaphragm, punctured her lungs, displaced her spleen, and crushed a vertebra. Rescuers took 45 minutes to cut the roof off the vehicle to get her out alive. But as her body was collapsing, she says she felt something different: she was floating above the car, detached from her own pain, and in that state claims to have met a man who did not belong to this world, someone with whom she felt a connection she could not explain at the time.

Five years later, Jeanette encountered a man in real life. And she swears he was the same face she had seen during her near-death experience. They ended up getting married. She tells her story on The Other Side NDE’s YouTube channel, aware that science has no way to confirm it, but convinced that what she experienced that night in Sweden showed her something we still do not know how to explain.
