Elizabeth Hurley turned 61 and doesn’t need filters to prove it. When asked, for the umpteenth time, how she stays that way, she didn’t talk about surgeries or impossible routines. She talked about a mantra she repeats before every meal.

Don’t eat too much, too quickly, too often, or too late. Four simple rules that, according to her, replace any fad diet. No green juices, no smoothies with weird names, no supplements unless a blood test calls for them. Her trick is in the kitchen: half of every plate is fruit or vegetables, and if she eats a sandwich, she has an apple afterward. She even bought a bread machine and bakes homemade bread every day, because for her, anything she wouldn’t have in her own kitchen is simply junk food.

The curious thing is that she doesn’t work out at a gym either. She just moves around a lot during the day. No extreme diets or routines from a famous trainer: a formula so simple it’s hard to believe it works at 61, but there she is to prove it.
