In September 2018, 4-year-old Isaiah Miller was with his family at a high school football game in Valdosta, Georgia, when he saw a woman he had never met. Without hesitation, he walked over, sat on her lap, and started talking to her as if they had been friends all their lives.
The encounter lasted about 20 minutes and ended when the woman had to leave during halftime. But two weeks later, Isaiah returned to the stadium and recognized her among the people in the stands. She recognized him too and motioned for him to come closer.
The boy walked straight over to her, sat on her lap again, and rested his head on her shoulder. This time, as she hugged and gently rocked him, Isaiah ended up falling asleep in her arms. His family even asked if she wanted them to take him back, but she replied that he wasn’t bothering her and that he was her new friend.
Angela explained that she only had one daughter, who was 15, and that she no longer had moments like that with a little child. For that reason, she said moments like those were “priceless”. ❤️
Isaiah’s aunt, Star Balloon-Bradley, posted the photos on Facebook because she didn’t even know the woman’s name and wanted to find her to thank her for that moment. The post went viral and eventually led to her being identified as Angela During.
The story touched hundreds of thousands of people and remained a reminder of how a child just 4 years old could form an unexpected connection with someone who, until then, had been a complete stranger to his family. ❤️
