Shannen Doherty went into the operating room without the person who should have been by her side the most.
It was January 2023, and the actress from ‘Beverly Hills, 90210’ and ‘Charmed’ was about to undergo surgery to remove a brain tumor caused by the breast cancer that had spread to her brain.
But hours earlier, she had discovered something else: she said her marriage was “essentially over” because her husband, Kurt Iswarienko, had been having an affair for two years.
He wanted to accompany her. She wouldn’t let him: “I couldn’t go into that surgery with him there. I felt so betrayed”.
She revealed this on the debut episode of her podcast, ‘Let’s Be Clear with Shannen Doherty,’ at age 52 in 2023. She said she felt “incredibly unloved by someone she had been with for 14 years”.
In the operating room, her mother, brother, and best friends supported her. She was convinced she wouldn’t make it out alive.
Ultimately, the actress lost her life on July 13, 2024, as a result of that cancer. 💔
