“I’ve decided to live with this, not die from it”.
Bruce Campbell revealed in March that he had been diagnosed with a form of cancer that can be treated but not cured. Months later, the Evil Dead actor spoke about his illness again, and this time he shared a much more difficult detail: how much time the doctors estimate he has left to live.
During a conversation on The Adam Carolla Show, the host asked him directly whether his prognosis was about five years. Campbell simply replied: “More or less”. The 68-year-old actor has preferred to keep the specific type of cancer he has private.
However, knowing that his time could be limited does not mean he wants to live focused on a countdown. Campbell says he continues working and facing the illness from a perspective he summed up in that phrase: he wants to live with cancer and not allow it to define the years he has ahead of him.
He now knows he could have about five years left, but he is also clear about how he wants to live them.
