Tyler Perry put it bluntly: marriage is no longer in his plans. 😅
At 57, the actor and director said he hasn’t been on a date in 30 years and joked that he no longer even remembers what one says on a first date.
But his stance on marriage is serious. Perry explained that he isn’t worried about getting married, but about what could happen if the relationship ends in divorce. After seeing people close to him lose great fortunes after separating, he says he prefers to preserve his freedom.
That said, Perry hasn’t been alone during those three decades: he maintained a long-term relationship with Gelila Bekele, the mother of his son Aman. His confession speaks more to his rejection of marriage than to giving up on love.
