“I just want to be myself” A trans abuser asks for makeup in prison, claims to be a “victim of hate” because she is not treated like a woman

The case of Isla Bryson, a British trans woman, has once again put the prison system in jeopardy and unleashed a wave of global outrage. Sentenced to eight years in prison for abusing two women in 2016 and 2019 (when she still identified as Adam Graham), Bryson has become the center of a controversy that mixes gender identity, criminal policy, and the pain of the victims.

From the women’s prison to the men’s prison The controversy began when, after her transition and conviction, Bryson was initially sent to a women’s prison. Under pressure, the Scottish government ordered her transfer to a men’s prison.

The complaints from the cell From her new confinement, Bryson has denounced being the victim of systemic “transphobia” by prison staff. In a series of statements that have set social media ablaze, the trans double abuser claims that she is being denied access to makeup and lingerie, which she considers a “hate crime”.

According to reports, the trans inmate has even suggested that the treatment she receives in the men’s prison is comparable to or even worse than the horror she herself inflicted on her biological female victims.
