Vinícius Jr. could not hold back his tears. In an interview for ‘Domingao com Huck’, the Brazilian forward spoke about his grandmother and broke down in front of the cameras.
He grew up in Sao Gonçalo, Brazil, with his mother, his siblings, and her, while his father lived far away. “The house was small, and I slept with her countless nights”, he said, recalling the years when they shared a roof, a bed, and silence before soccer changed everything.
Today, having become one of the most important figures on the Brazilian national team, he knows that his time with her is running out. “I know the moment will come when she passes away, so I make the most of every moment with her”, he confessed, his voice breaking and his eyes filled with tears.
