It is well known that the singer does not like going on world tours. Although she has performed at festivals, events, and special presentations, she has gone more than a decade without headlining a stadium tour like the one for Bangerz in 2014, but now she seems to have found the perfect solution for herself: singing without straying far from home.
During her recent interview with Zane Lowe for Apple Music, Miley explained her logic without filtering herself. She chose the Hollywood Bowl for her two scheduled concerts on October 16 and 18 because it is only a ten-minute drive from her home, so she will be able to finish each concert and sleep in her own bed that same night. She even considered the venue’s 23:00 curfew too late, since she tries to have her day finished by 21:30.
I like to eat early. I like to be in my bed early. We’ve talked a lot about sobriety and maintaining it, and a big part of that puzzle for me is my rest and recovery.
Miley used the two concerts as a test. Nearly 1,5 million people entered the virtual queue to try to get one of the approximately 35.000 tickets available, and that was enough for Cyrus to start talking about a permanent residency in Los Angeles, with up to 80 possible shows at the same venue, but this has drawn harsh criticism.
This is the ultimate dress rehearsal. Thanks to the queue, I now know that my calculations were correct: people will come to me. I don’t need to be the one who goes to them.
Although the plan sounds convenient for her. But what about fans who live on another continent and don’t have 2.000 dollars to cross the world just so Miley can sleep in her own bed after the concert?
