Steve Harvey didn’t start out in a television studio. He started out in a car.
He was born in 1957 in Welch, West Virginia, into a humble family that moved to Cleveland when he was 4 years old. His father worked in construction and, as he has said, his parents were very loving but had no money. His mother gave him faith, and his father taught him to work.

Before fame, he tried to make it as a comedian and spent years without a stable home, sleeping in his car between gigs. From that came a career that seemed impossible: comedian, actor, author, and host of shows like “Family Feud” and “Little Big Shots”.
Today, on his X account, he wrote that he lives by Ephesians 3:20, that his faith doesn’t falter, and that he wouldn’t have made it this far without Scripture. Looking back, he says he sees what God had in mind and that failure is a great teacher, because it teaches you what not to do next time.
For him, faith was never an adornment of success, but what sustained him when he still had nothing. 🙏
