Colin Farrell went from being one of the actors most associated with Hollywood excess to talking about green tea, vitamins, yoga, and wanting to live many more years.
During his early years of fame, the Irish actor spoke openly about a period marked by alcohol, drugs, and a rather chaotic lifestyle. Over time, he decided to leave that pace behind and has been sober for years, a change he has linked to the need to be present for his children.
Today, at 50, he describes his routine in a completely different way: he says he eats well, drinks lots of green tea, takes vitamins, and tries to stay active. He has also incorporated yoga, walking, and exercise into a much more orderly life.

His motivation, he says, goes far beyond looking good. Farrell is a father of two and has said he wants to live as long as possible to watch them grow up. He has even said that fatherhood was one of the strongest reasons for changing his relationship with alcohol and drugs.
And it is not just talk: in 2024, he ran the Dublin Marathon and completed the 42 kilometers while helping raise funds for an organization that supports people with epidermolysis bullosa.
At 50, Colin Farrell is no longer talking about surviving his excesses, but about taking good enough care of himself to stay by his children’s side for many more years.
