Britney Spears, 44, wrote a very long message on her social media and titled it with a painful phrase: she felt like a failed mother.
It all began when her son, one of the two she had with Kevin Federline, confessed that he does not believe in God, that for him everything has a scientific explanation.
Britney, who holds on to her faith in the Holy Spirit as an anchor amid the chaos, felt that something had broken. “At that moment I believed I had failed as a mother”, she wrote, and from there she uncovered a much older wound: she said that five years ago she discovered that her own parents, Jamie and Lynne, took her children to the beach in secret throughout an entire summer, while keeping her out of the loop.
She also spoke about the 13 years under legal conservatorship, about how she could never be “the real Spears”, and about a friendship she lost because her father would not let her return to a hamburger restaurant.
Today she says she no longer needs to be a star for anyone: “I am simply a mom”, she concluded, seeking to draw close to God again and reclaim the dreams she had before fame took everything away from her.
