Khloé Kardashian confessed that she had her cats undergo a controversial surgery known as “declawing”, a procedure that consists of amputating the claws and is currently banned or restricted in several countries because it is considered cruel to animals.
The businesswoman explained that she made the decision because she was badly advised and said that today she deeply regrets it. “I didn’t really know what it involved”, she commented, adding that she feels guilty because she believes her pets were affected after the operation.
Khloé also revealed that she now lives worried about her cats’ safety, since without claws they would not be able to defend themselves if they were to escape from home. Her statements quickly generated criticism on social media, where many users described the procedure as “inhumane”.
