Nickalas Kedrowitz, a 17-year-old teenager from Indiana, was sentenced to two life terms totaling 100 years in prison for murdering his two younger siblings in 2017.

During the trial in Ripley County, Judge Ryan King heard that Kedrowitz showed no remorse and confessed to the crimes by saying he was “freeing his siblings from some kind of hell”. Prosecutor Ric Hertel highlighted the teenager’s coldness.

His mother, Christina McCartney, tried to defend him by arguing that his stepfather, a violent person, had him terrified and threatened to attack the little girl and her if he did not act.

Despite the defense, Kedrowitz was tried as an adult and will spend the rest of his life behind bars, since U.S. law allows minors to be tried from the age of 12.
