Kelly Kozyra was 38 years old when she decided to tell everything.
It all started in 2017, on an ordinary night in Chicago, when a friend offered her cocaine during a night out filled with drinks and laughter.
What followed was not a relapse or an isolated slip: it was a daily habit, day and night, that led her to quit her job and spend nearly $80.000 in just 19 months.
After three months, her nose was already bleeding, and she was expelling chunks of skin every time she blew her nose.
Her septum gradually dissolved until it disappeared completely, and over time a hole opened in the outside of her face, the size of a dime.
Even so, she continued using: she would put her pinky finger in her nose so the substance would not escape through the hole.
During the pandemic, she wore masks to hide the damage and told others that she had a sinus infection.
Today, she shows her reconstructed face as a warning to anyone who thinks that a single line has no consequences.
