Andrés Mieles is 12 years old and survived the earthquakes that shook Venezuela on June 24, 2026. He was pulled out alive from the rubble, but they had to amputate one of his legs. He lost his family. And even so, as soon as he could speak, he asked for just one thing: Cristiano Ronaldo’s sticker for his 2026 World Cup album.
The story reached the ears of the Portuguese footballer, captain of Portugal’s national team in the tournament. And Cristiano did not stop at the gesture of the sticker alone. He recorded a video, looking into the camera as if Andrés were right in front of him: “I’m making this video to send you a hug, I know you’re a huge fan. When you get better, I want to invite you to watch one of my matches. I would love to meet you, my friend”.
Content creator Armando Poyo was the one who showed the video to Andrés in his bed at Hospital Miguel Pérez Carreño, in Caracas. There, amid bandages and a sticker in his hand, the boy smiled like he had not done in a long time. Sometimes comfort does not heal, but it stays by your side.
