Trystan Reese had been on testosterone treatment for nearly ten years when he decided to stop everything.
He and his husband Biff Chaplow, in Portland, Oregon, had already been raising Biff’s nieces and nephews together for seven years.
They wanted a biological child, but before they could achieve that, they suffered a miscarriage that left them devastated.
Trystan had to pause his hormone therapy to try again, something he had been told would be impossible when he was young: as a teenager, he was assured that the hormone would leave him infertile.
