The contestant on “Lock Upp: Sach Ya Sazaa”, wife of businessman Ashneer Grover, had said something that had already placed her at the center of the storm: that if rich people have more children, wealth grows, but if poor people have more children, poverty multiplies.
The statement came from an intimate confession, when she said that she and Ashneer wanted to have a third child and regretted not doing so because of family pressure.
Actress Tejasswi Prakash pressed her on a podcast to explain the logic behind her comment, but Madhuri did not soften her tone. On the contrary: “Do you really think the country is run by poor people? Who gives the rest of society jobs?”, she replied, without backing down an inch. 🤯
She also accused social media of “playing the victim” with her original statement. No apology, no backing down. Many criticized her, while others agreed with her. What do you think?
