“If she passed the test, let her compete”: the controversy over Olympic champion Lin Yu-Ting’s return to the ring

🥊 Lin Yu-Ting passed the sex eligibility test required by World Boxing and has the green light to fight at the Asian Championships. The decision came on March 20, 2026, and reignited the same discussion that divided the world during Paris 2024.

One side is clear about it: if the organization did its job, administered the test, and the boxer passed it, end of story. The other side asks whether a genetic test is enough to close a debate that has been open for years — especially when her opponent in the Olympic final, Poland’s Julia Szeremeta, is still asking the same question as many others.

⚖️ Imane Khelif, who also won gold in Paris, has not yet competed under these rules and is already planning to jump into professional boxing. For you, does the test settle everything, or does the debate go far beyond a test? 👇
