The last time many people saw him, he was in custody and had long hair. Now he appears with a shaved head, dressed in blue and speaking through the glass of a Thai prison.

Daniel Sancho, son of Spanish actor Rodolfo Sancho, made the news again after the first images of him from Surat Thani maximum-security prison were released.

The Spaniard is serving a life sentence for the murder and dismemberment of Colombian surgeon Edwin Arrieta, which took place in Thailand in 2023.

In the video, recorded during a visit in January 2026, Sancho is seen talking to someone whose identity is unknown. In just a few seconds, he reflects on why so many people believe in the existence of the devil but have doubts when asked about God.

The footage came to light in late September, practically at the same time that the Thai courts rejected the appeals filed by his defense and the victim’s family.

As his words circulate online again, his legal situation remains unchanged: Thailand’s courts confirmed that he will have to serve a life sentence for the murder of Edwin Arrieta.
