On one side are the moms who swear that Baby-Led Weaning (BLW) changed the way they feed their babies. This method consists of offering solid foods in pieces from the start of complementary feeding, allowing the baby to pick them up with their own hands and eat at their own pace, instead of being fed purées with a spoon. On the other side are those who feel that every post on the subject is a silent judgment of the way they raise and feed their children.

Science says something different from both sides. BLW does not improve appetite or guarantee that the baby will eat more vegetables, although it can offer more variety. And when done properly, it is just as safe as traditional feeding. No more, no less.

So why turn it into a test of motherhood? What method did you use and why?
