Iker couldn’t afford the Tri jersey, so he made one with Doritos bags — and the National Team tracked him down to give him the official one

Iker didn’t have the 2,000 pesos the official Tri jersey costs. So he grabbed Cheetos and Doritos bags, carefully cut out the logos, and glued them onto a green long-sleeve shirt he already had: the Tri crest on the left, the World Cup logo on the right. His mom recorded everything and uploaded it to TikTok. In a matter of days, millions of people saw it. 🫶

The Mexican National Team saw the video and replied in the comments: “Where can we send his jersey? Everyone on this boat! #SomosMéxico”. It wasn’t an empty gesture. The official account tracked him down, put together a package, and sent it to him: an official green jersey, a themed ball, and a commemorative cup.

When Iker opened the package, he put on the jersey right away. The National Team later posted: “The best part of this video is seeing Iker’s smile”. Now fans are asking for him to be invited to one of the 2026 World Cup matches. 🇲🇽✨
