The investigation into the death of Ada Barrozo Quilo in Caleta Olivia, Argentina, took a radical turn after the autopsy result became known.

An investigation that revealed mechanical asphyxia, nine fractured ribs, perforations in both lungs, and severe internal injuries, a picture of extreme violence that completely ruled out the initial hypotheses of natural death or negligent homicide.

Her partner, Sergio Navarro, 34, had told the courts that the woman died during a sexual encounter and that it was an accident, even going so far as to say “I’m fat and I crushed her without meaning to”.

But medical expert reports indicated that the level of damage observed required sustained force for several minutes, and marks consistent with bite wounds were also found on the victim’s hands, interpreted as possible attempts at self-defense. The accused remains in custody while the judicial investigation moves forward.
