Shania Twain, 60, has a phrase she repeats like a mantra: “I’m not trying to be 30, I’m not trying to be 25, and I never will again”. 🎤
The Canadian singer shared everything in an interview with People magazine, published on July 30, while promoting her seventh album, “Little Miss Twain”, inspired by her own childhood.
She spoke candidly about menopause, the body that has changed, and the criticism that no longer affects her.
In 2019, during a Las Vegas residency, two torn muscles in her thigh forced her to leave the stage, amid dehydration and what she describes as an intense period of menopause. That moment, she says, ended up teaching her something no concert had taught her before.
“My body is not a source of shame”, she stated, assuring that body shaming can no longer affect her. 💪
Months away from turning 61, Shania does not speak of resignation: she speaks of adaptation, of letting go of control over what cannot be controlled, and of turning every stage of her body into a new way of being at peace with herself.
