Croissantwoman accepted the job expecting something simple: sales, minimum wage, a normal first day.

It wasn’t like that. As soon as she arrived, they asked her to program the store’s alarm system, operate the cash register, check emails, and coordinate package shipments. None of that was in the job description. And when she asked for a break, the answer was clear: eight hours straight, without even ten minutes to sit down.

That same afternoon, she took out her phone and recorded the video that explained it all: she had no problem working hard, but minimum wage was not enough to cover so much extra effort. She quit before finishing her shift. The clip racked up more than 3.2 million views and 400 thousand likes, and thousands of people in the comments said they had experienced exactly the same thing on their own first day of work.
