He imagined his daughter without her parents and acted to protect children: Christian Bale invests millions so siblings are not separated in the foster care system and can grow up together

Christian Bale imagined something simple: his own daughter, alone, without her parents. 🥺

That image haunted him for 17 years, ever since he began investigating how the foster care system works in the United States. He discovered a figure that left him speechless: up to 75% of siblings who enter foster families end up separated, split between different homes, growing up as if they were not family.

So he did what few actors with his fame do: he stopped talking and started building. Together with his wife Sibi Blažić and expert Tim McCormick, he co-founded Together California, a US$22 million project that is already building 12 homes in Palmdale, each designed so that up to six siblings can live together with a trained foster parent.

Construction began in February 2024 and the project expects to welcome the first children in 2026. 🏡

After playing Batman, a boxer, and a serial killer, Bale chose this role: that of someone who refuses to let a child lose their sibling simply because there is not enough space.
