In an Istanbul café, a couple of tourists were drinking coffee and eating dessert. Between them, a white cat was sleeping upright. The scene had its own rhythm until the visitors interrupted the nap.

Then the photo appeared. The cat’s face, described as unimpressed, became the focus of the encounter: the moment its rest ended and its expression was captured.

A post attributed to the @bosunatiklama account, dated September 19, 2026, described in Turkish a cat woken by tourists in Istanbul. That date refers to the post, not the exact moment of the encounter. Later, the photograph circulated on social media, and the cat’s expression went viral. The scene featured coffee, dessert, and an interrupted nap. On the internet, what remained above all was the face of someone who had just woken up.
