In case you didn’t know, there are serious consequences for your body if you don’t shower after having intimacy

After having sex, the only thing many people want is to lie down a little longer. But specialists recommend not forgetting hygiene, because small habits can help prevent fairly common discomforts.

One of the main concerns is urinary tract infections. After sex, some bacteria can reach the urethra more easily and increase the risk of developing this type of infection, especially in women. That’s why it’s also often recommended to urinate and clean the intimate area after the encounter.

Hygiene also helps maintain the natural balance of the intimate area. The mixture of sweat, bodily fluids, and bacteria can alter the normal flora and promote irritation or discomfort, especially if this happens repeatedly.

Another detail that few people talk about is changes in intimate odor. It doesn’t mean there is a serious problem, but the buildup of fluids and bacteria can temporarily change the body’s natural odor. A gentle shower with water and proper hygiene are usually enough to prevent it.

That said, experts also advise not overdoing it. There’s no need to use harsh or heavily scented products, since they can further disrupt the area’s balance. Sometimes, something as simple as good hygiene and a little water is what the body appreciates most.
