In the offices of Beijing and Shanghai, there is one object that nobody expected to see on desks: baby pacifiers, but for adults. 🍼
The trend exploded on platforms like Taobao, where a single model surpassed 10,000 sales at about 2 dollars each. Psychologists speak of ’emotional regression’: returning to a childhood object as a refuge from the stress, anxiety, and insomnia generated by modern working life.
But not everyone is happy with the trend. Dentist Tang Caomin, from Sichuan University, warned that prolonged use can cause jaw pain, difficulty opening the mouth, and even a risk of suffocation if you fall asleep with the pacifier in. Even so, the craze has already crossed the ocean and is starting to be seen in the United States. Would you try it?
