In Japan, they claim ostriches are attracted to bald people because their heads remind them of their eggs and they protect them by instinct! 🥚😳

If you’re bald, maybe you should think about visiting Hokkaido.

At an ostrich farm in Niseko, Japan, a group of birds has been filmed doing something nobody told them to do: approaching hairless visitors and gently resting their necks on their crowns, with a softness that’s surprising in an animal of that size. Far from attacking, they stay there, as if they had found exactly what they were looking for.

Social media did the rest. The most repeated joke is that the ostriches mistake those smooth, shiny heads for their own giant eggs and try to protect them. There’s no scientific evidence that they actually believe that, but the farm itself admits that its birds show a particular interest in bald people.

Whether it’s instinct or an exceptionally affectionate ostrich, the scene is hard to forget. Would you dare to see if one picks you?
