Journalist Seir Contreras captured the moment on video and shared it on social media. Within hours, the image spread across all of Venezuela: a man in uniform, surrounded by tragedy, carrying a small, frightened animal as if it were the most important thing in the world. Because in that instant, it was. Several families had reported their pets missing during the upheaval; some ran away in terror, while others could still be trapped. 🐾
