Roshni Devi Sangwan is 70 years old, lives in Haryana, India, and for nearly two decades, arthritis pain and a spinal injury dictated what her body could or could not do.

It was her son Ajay Sangwan, a personal trainer, who suggested something that sounded contradictory: instead of resigning herself to the usual physical therapy, strength training at the gym. She started with 5 kilos. Just that. But every week she added a little more, until deadlifts, squats, and the leg press stopped scaring her.

Today she lifts more than 100 kilos, trains wearing her traditional salwar, and her videos have already racked up millions of views. They call her ‘Weight Lifter Mummy,’ and her story reminds everyone that chronic pain does not have to be a final sentence.
