Infanta Sofía lives in the shadow of her sister Leonor, the future queen of Spain, and few speak about what that means for her

Leonor and Sofía de Borbón are blood sisters, daughters of King Felipe VI and Queen Letizia of Spain. They grew up under the same roof, with the same education and the same surnames. But from childhood, something separated them forever: birth order.

Leonor, the eldest, is the Princess of Asturias and future Queen. Every one of her appearances is celebrated, every gesture analyzed fondly by the Spanish press and public. Sofía, on the other hand, has endured years of unfair comparisons, criticism of her appearance, and comments that cast her as “the other daughter”, the one who will not rule.

No one chooses the place they occupy at birth. And yet, that difference has shaped the public lives of two young women who are only trying to grow up, each in her own way, under the silent weight of a crown that only one of them will wear someday. 👑💔
