Russian influencer Ekaterina Didenko wanted to do something “original” for her 29th birthday and decided to organize a pool party in Moscow with 25 kilos of dry ice to create a cloud of fog, but the contact of the dry ice with the water produced carbon dioxide, a gas that flooded the room in seconds and caused the guests to suffocate and faint, even though they were wearing protective suits, leaving a death toll of three people.

Russia’s investigative committee reported that two people died at the scene of the accident, while the influencer’s husband died at the hospital, and the case became a tragic reminder of the dangers of the irresponsible use of dry ice in enclosed spaces.

Following the tragic incident, Didenko spoke on her Instagram account to confirm that she is in a legal process and that she is prohibited from disclosing any information related to the deaths, while the victims’ families face the pain of having lost their loved ones at a party that went viral for the wrong reasons.
