The little dog couldn’t get down.
It was on the roof of a house, exposed to the sun, with no way to get down on its own. Ángela Quito Jiménez saw it, and so did her daughter. Neither of them looked the other way.
The girl tied a rope around her waist and climbed over a wall at least two meters high. At the top, a frightened animal was waiting for her, unsure who she was. She didn’t grab it suddenly: she spoke to it gently, again and again, until the little dog trusted her. Then she carefully picked it up while a man held the rope to pull her up onto the roof.
The video, which Ángela shared on TikTok, surpassed 400 thousand views. Many comments weren’t about the rescue, but about the mother teaching her daughter that caring for an animal is also a way of caring for someone.
