Peter Corley, a 62-year-old railway inspector, was checking tickets on a train between Leeds and York when he found two young people traveling without a ticket. After asking them to get off at the next station, one of them reacted violently.

Finley Seggie, 21, lunged at the worker and struck him hard in the face. The impact was so brutal that Peter saw one of his teeth go flying out. He ended up covered in blood and with a dental bill close to $4,000.

Although the attacker was convicted, the psychological aftermath forced Peter to leave the job he loved. The attacker avoided jail and received a suspended sentence. All over a train ticket.
