“The truth is we don’t talk much about the age difference, it’s normal for us and it really doesn’t feel like it”, said Mindy, who is about to have her first child with Larry.

You’ve surely heard the saying “love has no age”, claiming that it doesn’t matter how many years apart two people may be as long as they love and respect each other. But when we see a couple whose ages are very far apart, prejudices come in, thinking that there could be ulterior motives behind it, causing the relationship to lose authenticity.

However, that doesn’t seem to be the case for 30-year-old Mindy Mikla and 60-year-old Larry Linx, who met when she suffered a car accident and her now-husband was the officer who assisted her. It was love at first sight and they haven’t been apart since then, having now been together for more than nine years and now… they’re expecting their first child!

“The truth is we don’t talk much about the age difference, it’s normal for us and it really doesn’t feel like it“, Mindy said in an interview with Truly. But not everyone has looked kindly on this relationship, since they started receiving many negative messages after Mindy showed Larry on her YouTube channel.

“A lot of people supported us a lot, but we also received a ton of hate and violent reactions because of the age difference, which was a little shocking. I wasn’t prepared for that, but now I’ve developed a thick skin and I’m okay“, the woman stated.

In the interview they also talked about their baby, which they had been planning since 2020, but because Larry had already had a vasectomy, they had to try through in vitro fertilization (IVF), managing to become pregnant at the end of last year. However, this only worsened the quality of the comments they received through social media.

“How sad, the baby won’t see his dad live very long or “The kids won’t have a dad in 5 to 10 years”. Some even tease them: “Does he know how to open a PDF?” or “Is that your grandfather?”. To which Mikla responded “They’re just keyboard warriors, they wouldn’t say it to our faces, but they have no problem writing it. The funny thing about these kinds of comments is that no one has ever actually come up to us to say something like that in person”.

Despite the existence of such critical people, there is still hope from people who send them their best wishes and say that age doesn’t matter. “I love their relationship, they are very sweet. Don’t judge people before getting to know them, they are happy, so let them be or “I watch them and honestly I can say that this seems like a genuine love to me. They are both incredible people. I wish I had a relationship like that. They will be good parents”.
