Napi was walking through Paris and, for a moment, wondered where they were.

The content creator, who has more than 1.6 million followers, filmed a tour of Château Rouge, in Paris’s 18th arrondissement, showing stalls selling fruit, vegetables, and other products, as well as fabrics and businesses connected to various African cultures.

“Is this Paris or Kinshasa?”, Napi commented while walking through the area. During the video, they also bought an ear of corn for one euro and spoke in French with some of the vendors.

The location is no coincidence. For decades, Château Rouge has been one of the main commercial and cultural hubs for African communities in the French capital, especially those from West and Central Africa.

Napi’s tour caught people’s attention on social media by showing a side of Paris very different from the tourist image usually associated with the city.
