He said it himself months before his death: mental health “is a 24-hour-a-day job” 💔

Presley Gerber was 27 years old and had been speaking for some time about a battle that few saw up close.

The eldest son of Cindy Crawford and Rande Gerber died on Sunday, September 20, 2026, at a rehabilitation center in Los Angeles, according to the county Medical Examiner’s Office.

The exact cause has not yet been made public, and the autopsy was still pending. Months earlier, in December 2025, he had posted—and later deleted—a video on Instagram in which he detailed that he took Xanax, Valium and buprenorphine, and described his panic attacks with raw honesty.

His mother replied in the comments: “Presley, we love you and you are not alone”.

Since 2019, when he was arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol, Presley had become a public voice on mental health, with his initiative “Mental Health Mondays”.

The family asked for privacy, and Kaia Gerber, his sister, is mourning today the person who was the first to join that family, two years before her.
