In recent days, social media has been flooded with images of a phenomenon in Indonesia that has left internet users torn between disbelief and admiration.

It is an iridescent cloud, an optical phenomenon so perfect that many suggested it was the work of artificial intelligence. However, science and numerous videos from eyewitnesses confirm that reality surpassed fiction.

What exactly are we seeing? These clouds, often called “rainbow clouds,” occur when very thin clouds are formed by water droplets or ice crystals of nearly uniform size. When the sun is in the right position, light diffracts through these particles, separating the colors and creating this oil-painting effect on the blue canvas of the sky.

This phenomenon reminds us that, despite advances in technology, our planet still has the ability to surprise us with pure, organic, and absolutely magical beauty.
