Keith Hoerning had everything you’re not supposed to risk: a family, a respected name, a career as a doctor in New York. He risked it anyway.
For 18 months, he carried on a secret affair with Rosana Kissoon, a striptease dancer on Long Island, which began with love messages and ended with death threats. According to the chats presented in Suffolk County court, Kissoon even wrote that she wanted to see him dead and would have his father-in-law killed if he did not leave his wife. Hoerning, 51, responded by begging her to stop, apologizing for something he himself did not even understand.
When the relationship exploded, she sued him for $1 million, claiming that the money she received was support, not extortion. He responded with an affidavit in which he acknowledged the affair as “the worst mistake of my life” and accused Kissoon of using the secret as a weapon. Her attorney insists that his client only wanted to build a life with him. The court has yet to decide who is telling the truth.
