The Australian boxer, then FIB bantamweight champion, bluntly said she would never step into the ring against a trans boxer. To explain it, she used a comparison that went around the world: it would be as if Mike Tyson became a woman and fought her. “It’s wrong, especially in boxing”, she declared in an interview with Bitcoin Casinos in July 2023.
Her words came just as the World Boxing Council (WBC) announced plans to create a transgender category. The organization’s president, Mauricio Sulaiman, told the Telegraph that no boxer would be allowed to face someone of a gender different from the one assigned at birth, according to the new regulations.
